Business Development Director

The Director of Business Development will be responsible for developing new opportunities to grow DDS Labs top line revenue from a group of specific products that will provide acceptable gross margins. These new opportunities can be the development and implementation of new product lines or establishing business relationships with new or existing customer organizations, suppliers, insurance companies, GPO organizations, and/or other providers that serve the dental industry. The Director of Business Development will justify investment in new opportunities and product lines with an analytical or financially base business case and then drive implementation through the appropriate DDS Lab organization(s). Key products that that this position will be responsible for growing dental implants, removable products and orthodontic/sequential aligners. This position will also be responsible for staying abreast of new industry trends, services, and products and for making sure that DDS Lab stays in the forefront of new dental lab technologies and products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Developing business case for new products in the dental implant, removable and orthodontic/sequential aligner areas of the dental lab industry.
Lead the implementation of new products and commercial opportunities for DDS Lab
Coordinate efforts between Sales, Finance, Operations and Marketing to ensure new products and projects have a successful launch.
Identify and negotiate partnerships and co-marketing relationships with other companies that can provide access to additional customers and selling opportunities for DDS Lab. Examples are co-marketing agreement(s) with dental insurance companies, GPOs, and customer organizations that have strategic value.
Evaluate, negotiate and lead new opportunities to improve customer retention with the implementation of new products, processes and strategic relationships.
Identify new product development and product change opportunities and lead their evaluation and implementation.
Plan and prepare new Marketing initiatives.
Work with current customer organizations to identify new opportunities and develop compelling offerings that capture incremental revenue.
Support the change management of existing customer behavior to drive better cost leadership and/or higher revenues.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Extensive knowledge and experience within dental industry as it pertains to implant and/or removable and/or orthodontic/sequential aligner products that can easily translate into dental lab effectiveness.
Entrepreneurial ability to identify and develop new opportunities.
The ability to develop and present compelling PowerPoint presentations.
Excellent written and verbal presentation skills.
Strong analytical skills to develop an economic business case for a new product, service, opportunity or idea.
Strong project management skills to take new ideas, products, relationships, etc. and validate and implement them to drive successful outcomes.
Ability to lead and influence people that do not have direct reporting to this position.
Ability to develop effective marketing programs that will drive favorable outcomes in support of new opportunities.

Experience
Minimum 5-10 years of dental experience in a role that has strong in field responsibility for customer sales, retention and growth. Demonstrated ability to manage data and make compelling presentations to customer leadership at the highest levels to drive successful outcomes.
3+ years of responsibility for regional or national sales and/or account management preferred in a business space related to the dental industry.
Experienced in customer data collection, metrics and analysis
Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing or related field preferred

Travel
This position requires at times will require up to 50% travel within the continental USA. Frequently travel is outside the local area and overnight. Demand for international travel may increase, therefore ability to obtain a Visa and gain entry into Europe and Asia are required.
